People usually account the last season as a failure because of the finale. In truth, last 2 seasons where a failure because of the lack of dialogues and scenes like this one, exposing the depth of the characters.

"When I heard they killed my brother's son" They cut out an entire generation of Targaryen's for the show. Aemon's brother Aegon's son was Jaehaerys II who then had Aerys II. It was his nephew's son.

Full marks in this series to Lena Headley for a superb performance of plaing a truly unlikable and ghastly character. And Tyrion is Gold.

The set up from Tywin and it was working a treat yet a man like him who is many many steps a head he is thinking what to do twenty steps later and most likely has a strategy when it all plays out because he can see the end result where he controls a boy king who is weak. BUT his planning could never see the one flaw in his masterplan. Jamie Lannister. If Rob Stark had hung him Joffrey would have been poisoned and King Tommen would have been ruled by Tywin Lannister. Tywin was all over him BUT. he did not see his death sentence being freed by Jamie Lannister. Again it was working i know Tywin saw Joffrey drinking out of that cup then hand it to queen Margaery Joffrey made a huge scene the cup goes down he cuts pie he lifts cup it was not filled up again he drinks and begins choking he dies. Tywin Lannister is all over Tommen during Joffrey funeral. It was working King Tommen was answering Tywins questions correctly BUT Tywin did not see Jamie Lannister letting Tyrion go if Tywin could see that coming the cross bow would have been pointed at Tyrion as he went through Tywin door. Great plan but could never see past Jamie Lannister.

Tyrion was so sweet to Myrcella and Tommen.
